Memory Hole: Animals are Over

Sunday, June 29, 2025 (7:00pm)
MEMORY HOLE: ANIMALS ARE OVER
Aurora Picture Show – 5601A Navigation Blvd.
Tickets: $20 / $15 for Aurora members

Memory Hole, the enigmatic spinoff of Everything is Terrible!, presents this surreal, anti-civilization performance and video that unfolds in a mind-melting spectacle you’ll never forget…no matter how much you wish you could! Composed entirely of found home video footage interwoven with a live performance/score, Animals Are Over is an uncanny blend of art, horror, hilarity, and sadness that will have you giggling in terror. Exploring humanity’s shortsightedness in destroying all animals–ourselves included–for the sake of cheap dopamine blasts and the profits of a few loser billionaires, this one-night event will turn the viewer's blood into a viscous, demonic sludge of oil and microplastics.

Everything is Terrible! is the video and performance collective that is responsible for a never-ending treasure trove of found videos, psychedelic documentary feature films, international touring live shows, and immersive installations. The vast EIT! found footage library is being culled from the mountains of dead media that have been abandoned by humanity, EIT! has posted re-edits from the collection online daily since 2007. Beyond creating what the CBC called “the best site ever,” Everything Is Terrible! has also collected 30,000 Jerry Maguire VHS tapes, most found and donated by fans, that will one day live in a permanent pyramid in the desert. Their Jerry Maguire Video Store installation in Los Angeles was praised by The New York Times, Vice, The Paris Review, and others. EIT! has made seven feature-length films, including 2012’s DoggieWoggiez! PoochieWoochiez!,–a remake of The Holy Mountain created out of thousands of dog clips. Their feature The Great Satan was called “a masterpiece’’ by Film Threat and The Chicago Reader.
