EXTREMELY SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL

SInce 1998, Aurora Picture Show's annual Extremely Shorts FIlm Festival has presented hundreds of adventurous short films, as well as hosting guest jurors, visiting filmmakers, and enthusiastic audiences! Extremely Shorts is an open-call, juried competition of three-minutes-or-shorter films and videos of all kinds and from around the world. Each year, a different guest juror (artist, organizer, or curator) selects mini-masterpieces to be presented at the festival’s in-person screenings at Aurora Picture Show in Houston as well as online streaming in late-May. Modest screening fees are provided for selected films, and cash awards are given for Audience Choice and Juror Award. The short format of the festival encourages its eclectic experience, involving a range of creative approaches and genres including narrative, experimental, documentary, and animation. Extremely Shorts is famously fun and wildly weird! Info on previous festivals are here at our festival archive page.
