AURORA SUMMER YOUTH FILMMAKING CAMPS

For over 15 years, Aurora has presented kids with the opportunity to see, learn about, and make movies. During Aurora’s week-long, hands-on camps, our teaching artists will show a variety of films from our media library, teach the basics of both traditional and experimental moviemaking, encourage creative thinking, and facilitate collaboration. Participants, ages 7-11 and 12-15, will be guided through developing, shooting, and editing digital short films. There is one camp designed for participants 12-15 who have previously attended at least one Aurora camp and are especially motivated to learn more about video editing and visual effects. A special premiere screening of 2026 camp films takes place at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston in August 15.


SUMMER 2026 CAMP REGISTRATION
Each camp is one week, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm, and will be held at Aurora Picture Show’s new East End location – 5601A Navigation Blvd. Houston, TX 77011. The cost per camp is $400 / $350 for Aurora members (Members, please log into your account to receive your discount). A 75% refund of the tuition cost will be provided if the cancellation is received at least 10 days before the camp starts. Without 10 days notice, total tuition is forfeited.
