Saturday, June 7, 2025 (8:30pm)
CONSTANT COMPANIONS
Co-presented by Aurora Picture Show and the Menil Collection
Location: The Menil Collection  – 1533 Sul Ross St.
Free Admission

Held in conjunction with the exhibition Animals, Monsters, and Creatures from the Collection, Aurora and the Menil Collection co-present a curated program of short experimental films observing the ever-evolving role animals play in human culture and daily life. While animals and phantasmal creatures often represented demons or gods in early and pre-industrial societies, these films by artists including Jessie Mott, Steve Reinke, and Ann Oren look at how myth, animals, and symbols function in the contemporary imagination. This program will be presented inside the museum’s foyer. Recommended for ages 13+.
