Aurora Picture Show’s Extremely Shorts Film Festival is an eclectic showcase of short films (3 minutes or shorter) of all kinds from around the world. The short format of the festival encourages an eclectic experience, involving a range of subjects, creative approaches, and genres. The 2024 festival program features 29 short films from 10 countries, including the US, Canada, UK, Ukraine, Georgia, Netherlands, Poland, China, Thailand, and Iran. The US selections span 11 states, including five films from Texas. Join us for our in-person screenings and receptions May 31 and June 1 at the Storyhive. This year’s guest Juror Lili Chin and some participating filmmakers will be in attendance for these festival screenings. Cash awards will be given for Juror and Audience Choice Awards.

Parking is a available in a lot across the street from The Storyhive (behind Gitas). Street parking is also available in the area.

Guest Juror 2024:
Lili Chin is an artist and curator based in New York City. Chin's films have screened at Anthology Film Archives, 601 Art Space, Microscope Gallery, Edinburgh Film Festival and the Pacific Film Archive among others. Through VoomHD, an artist residency program, she co-produced work by a variety of filmmakers and artists, including Leslie Thornton, Yvonne Rainer, Tony Conrad, and Alfred Leslie. She is the co-founder of the Kabayitos Microcinema Open Call program at the Clemente in NYC.
