Aurora presents the Forty Seventh Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour, the hall of fame for experimental media, Saturday, September 12 at 7PM at Frenetic Theater, 5102 Navigation. This year's tour at Aurora Picture Show offers some highlights of the festival's innovative short film award winners in genres such as experimental, animated and documentary.

Some of the titles from this year's winners include Dahlia by Michael Langan (San Francisco, CA, 5 minutes); Studies in Transfalumination by Peter Rose (Philadelphia, PA, 5 minutes); Passages by Marie- Josee Saint-Pierre (Montreal, Canada, 24.5 minutes); Reincarnation by Takeshi Kushida (Tokyo, Japan, 5 minutes); Six Apartments by Reynold Reynolds (Berlin, Germany,12.5 minutes); Video Terraform Dance Party by Jeremy Bailey (Toronto, Canada, 12 minutes); and A City to Yourself by Nicole Macdonald (Detroit, MI, 24 minutes).



The Ann Arbor Film Festival celebrates independent and experimental filmmakers from around the world. Founded in 1963, the festival is the oldest of its kind in North America. Now in its 47th year, it attracts almost 2000 entries from filmmakers in over 20 countries, and distributes over $15,000 in awards. Created as an alternative to commercial cinema and mainstream film festivals, the annual week-long festival remains true to its original goal of promoting film as art and honoring the artists who make it possible.
